About the Crystal

Bloodshot iolite is a type of iolite that contains unique, sparkling inclusions of other minerals, typically hematite or goethite.  These inclusions give the otherwise transparent or translucent iolite a reddish-brown, metallic glitter or "schiller" effect, which is why it's called "bloodshot."
