Citrine
About the Crystal
Citrine is a yellow to brownish variety of quartz that is formed through a combination of heat and pressure acting on the mineral amethyst. Natural citrine is relatively rare and is usually found in association with amethyst or smoky quartz deposits. It forms when silicon dioxide-rich solutions infiltrate clefts and fissures within rock formations and slowly cool, allowing the quartz crystals to grow over time. The yellow color of citrine is caused by the presence of trace amounts of iron within the crystal structure.
Citrine is a stone that helps cleanse and regenerate. It's a great beginner crystal that brings energy, creativity and abundance. The stone helps to remove self destructive behavior and promotes inner calm. The name is derived from the French word "citron" which means lemon.
