Howlite**

About the Crystal

Howlite is a porous mineral, a borate mineral, that is most commonly found as white nodules with intricate grey or black veining. It is often dyed blue or green to imitate other stones like turquoise or lapis lazuli. The mineral was first discovered in Nova Scotia, Canada, by Henry How, after whom the stone is named. Today, significant deposits are also found in California and Nevada.
