Russian Rainbow Pyrite is a type of pyrite mineral that is known for its iridescent surface, which displays a range of colors, including purple, green, blue, and gold. These are from the Ural Mountains in Russia.

The iridescence of Russian rainbow pyrite is caused by the diffraction of light on the crystal surface. As light passes through the thin layer of oxidized iron on the surface of the crystal, it is refracted and dispersed into a spectrum of colors.
